Weihe Engineers 2017 Year in Review

Another year has nearly passed and Weihe Engineers would like to take a moment to thank the employees, clients and vendors that have made 2017 great. We are blessed to work with many of the best developers and owners throughout Central Indiana and the Midwest and hope we have upheld our promise of being a trusted partner that helped each client Build with Confidence.

2017 was an exciting year at Weihe. A major client recognized us as their 2016 Consultant of Year. Our staff grew by 25% and our sales were the highest in our 57-year history. Restaurant and gas and convenience store projects had us busy in Michigan, Illinois, Kentucky, Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri. Residential development continues to strengthen and over the past year, we’ve designed projects throughout Central Indiana as well as in Lafayette and Ligonier, Indiana and Columbus, Ohio. Our market share has increased, which is a testament to the dedicated individuals that provide quality work for clients every day.

As the company grows, we are upgrading infrastructure and taking a fresh look at how to provide the best workplace for employees. Last February, we shifted from internal IT management to managed IT services from a third party and we’ve recently installed new fiber internet service into our office to increase the speed at which we interact with the rest of the world. Flexible work hours, gym facilities, great benefits and a lack of non-compete contracts are a few reasons people have told us they enjoy working at Weihe.

Weihe Engineers believes in supporting charities and not-for-profit groups. In 2017, we demonstrated this belief by donating land surveying and engineering services for the Millard Fuller Legacy Build 2017 on the near east side of Indianapolis and for a Boy Scouts storage building on the south side of Indianapolis. We also provided support for the CDLS Foundation, Epilepsy Foundation, Team World Vision and dozens of other non-profit organizations.

Looking ahead to 2018, we expect another strong year. Opportunities abound in Central Indiana as a low cost of living and burgeoning tech sector are expected to fuel development. Combine local strength with Weihe’s expanding service area and we have plenty to be thankful for.
