On April 28th, 2025, the former Land Stewards Design Group joined Weihe Engineers to launch its new Sustainable Design Group. Since 1960, Weihe Engineers has been a company passionate about designing places and spaces for the good of people, communities, and the natural environment. It has long been a desire to expand that vision into stewarding natural resources. Weihe Engineers is excited to bring this new service to its clients.

David Counsell, P.E., is leading this group leveraging his proven history in leadership, project management, and creative problem solving. “With environmental regulations and sustainability standards getting more stringent across land development combined with increasing demand for sustainable solutions and green infrastructure, our group has the expertise and capabilities clients want.”

Land Stewards Design Group was founded in 2021 with an intentional focus on reducing the environmental impact of site development across a wide variety of project types. The company utilizes a holistic design approach between planning, civil engineering, and landscape specialties to align project goals with solutions that improve the health and well-being of both people and the natural environment. Historically, serving clients with technically challenging projects that require novel solutions for zoning, environmental, and/or stormwater challenges while meeting or exceeding client goals for site utility and/or return on investment.
