Crossing the Finish Line
A multi-generational family business established in 1939, Umbarger Show Feeds has deep community roots and even stronger family pride. Weihe Engineers worked very closely with the current father/son owners to develop a modern feed mill for generations to come. After completing the ALTA with Topography Survey, Weihe Engineers created a site layout that incorporated all of the unique requirements of a large feed mill for both semi-grain trucks and vehicular traffic. This site was unusual in that it had approvals in two separate governing jurisdictions, the City of Franklin within their Buffer Zone and Johnson County for all the technical design of the civil plans. The future building expansion was incorporated into the design including stormwater detention for when the warehouse expansion, due to the continued growth of Umbarger Show Feeds, is necessary.
